Southeast Michigan Wedding Location
Erica and Clark were looking for Wedding Videographers in Southeast Michigan. They began with location hunting at The Grand Belle, a humble barn tucked away in Holly Michigan. This location offers a ceremony and reception venue for indoor and outdoor weddings. With the perfect location secured, all they needed next were the perfect Wedding Videographers.
Fellow Filmmakers
After booking me, Erica told me that Clark was “very happy” to hire me as their wedding videographer. Clark is a Digital Imaging Technician in the I.A.T.S.E Local 600 International Cinematographers Guild here in MI. Erica said “Please know that says a lot because 1. ) I’m not the professional and 2.) he’s not the easiest to please in this department LOL).” After hearing such a humbling compliment, I was really looking forward to creating a video for a fellow filmmaker.
Videographer/Client Communication
It was a real pleasure to watch these two on the big day. Erica was beyond overwhelmed and joyful. She professed that she always gets sappy at weddings and today was a true test to keep herself together. Clark was cool-headed for the most part. He seemed very focused but was quick to goof off in a moment’s notice. While shooting his pre-ceremony footage, he couldn’t help but put himself in my position on occasion and think of how to approach each scene. It was cool being able to geek out with him for a bit and talk about the different aspects of film making. Wedding videpgraphers in Southeast Michigan don’t typically get to do this while on the job.
One-Of-A-Kind Wedding Video
Erica and Clark had so much personality and it made the day really fun. When reviewing their footage, I was shocked to find that there was a malfunction on my end during the reception. I’m pretty hyper-critical when it comes to my work. My heart sank when I realized I would have to tell Clark that we missed some shots from the day. I knew that I had everything I needed to make a top-notch wedding video but I wanted to be upfront with him. Luckily, he was also confident that with good editing, the missed shots would not be noticeable – and he was right! The video turned out to be one of my favorites because of how their personalities shined through. By using more candid moments than I typically do, I found it to be more relatable than most of my other wedding videos. The final result was an entertaining and unique video.
